Hey world! I hope this isn't what you turn out to be
So, all you assorted people out there. I read the book A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, and I hope his prediction of the future isn't accurate.
I was inspired to read this book when I saw that it was at least a second year course book for Walter Peyton College Preparatory High School.
In his book, no one was born naturally, they were all 'decanted'. To be called a mother was an insult. Every person was part of a caste. Everyone was addicted to 'Soma', which seems like a type of hallucination inducing drug. Every child was subjected to sleep teaching, where recorded voices repeated 'moral' phrases. This firmly ingrained certain rhymes about their world in the child's head wile they were sleeping. There was no such thing as marriage, it was considered anti-social to not conform to the strict regimen of free love, except without the love, and drug use. To stay with someone for more than a week, this was considered odd. And don't even get me started on the 'savage preserves'. These were small areas of land that the Alpha ++'s , or the 'world controllers' deemed insignificant, resource wise. People who decided to stay living here were treated as savages, and treated as if in a zoo. High ups could schedule an appointment to visit one of the savage reserves, and travel by helicopter above all the 'savages'. Savages, feelies, which were a type of 5d performance that was directly administered into the senses, Soma, and Obstacle golf. This was their world.
And can you not see why I wouldn't want this world to turn out this way?

Hey world, you better listen up.
I finished Exodus a long time ago, but i just haven't blogged about it yet. So...(Spoiler alert)
The story line isn't very clear, but is very interesting to a Jew, and I count myself as one, It is the story of an American nurse who gets involved with a plot to free Jews from a displaced persons camp. These Jews were then sent on the book's namesake, the Exodus, towards Palestine. the nurse, Kitty Fremont, became attached to one of the children on the Exodus, attempting to take her to America throughout the story. Kitty follows the ship through it's stages: launching, landing, and rehabilitation.
The children have to go on hunger strike to force the British's hand. In the end, the British cave in to save themselves the bad press
The Exodus landed in Haifa, and the children dispersed all around Palestine.
The story then transforms into a saga about the Israeli fight for freedom. It talks in detail about the fighting going on after the vote for partition. The struggle, the heartbreak, the triumph.

World, I hope you aren't as crazy as i am
I really must start a dream journal. If you met one of my friends from camp, he could tell you about my dreams. He wrote a song about them; It was very funny, but i didn't really like the tune. Oh well, i guess we all have our disappointments. The reason it comes up is, I was drinking a soda, and i fell asleep. This normally wouldn't be very important, but the dream that followed was quite remarkable, in the original sense of the word. The dream went along the lines of this: I fell into my soda, saw a very large spider fighting with a kangaroo in a pink and yellow nightgown. Then the spider put on roller skates, and the kangaroo, a hat with a stuffed vulture on it. Then they started to waltz with a prim english butler who had but one arm. This butler spoke only Cantonese, which none of the others understood. (the spider spoke only German with a slight french accent, while the kangaroo spoke only Russian). Then the butler poured us all a hot chocolate, and we all went to sleep in the white house.

Hey World!! Are you listening?
So, I chose to read the book Exodus by Leon Uris. I started it last Sunday, and i had it half done by the time we were back in school on Tuesday. I didn't really have much else to do, as i was at my second home, in Michigan, pictures to come.We don't have Internet in Michigan, so i couldn't fulfill my urge to blog. I am blogging now to help that urge from coming back.

Hello out there!!!!
I'm new to this whole blogging thing, I hope it's not too obvious, but i think this could be really cool. I'm supposed to use this for reading assignments for 8th grade english class, but i think that it could be really useful to let out, as one of my teacher loves to say, Inner Monologue. So, please bear with me while i get the hang of things. Welcome, Bienvenue, Bruchim HaBaiim, Velkomme.
